Landslide Sources Also Landers Earthquake
This binder contains two parts: Landslide Sources, which began in September of 1991, and Landers Earthquake, in January of 1993. The former part contains mostly handwritten notes from Dahlen, a few textbook print-outs, and a paper written by Dahlen himself. The next part deals with the Landers Earthquake, which hit California on June 28th, 1992. Both collections are housed within a light green loose leaf binder.

Landslide Sources follows Dahlen's process as he worked with landslide sources and how they are affected by seismic activity. He takes into account the possibility of having a fluid layer such as an ocean. In it he writes out calculations as well as numerous hand-written graphs depicting the Love and Rayleigh waves of a given seismic event. In addition, Dahlen's paper, Single-Force Representations of Shallow Landslide Sources can be found here, along with reviews as it was in the process of being published. The last section, Landers Earthquake, contains mostly papers about the said earthquake written by numerous seismologists around the world.

This collection can be found at: Guyot Hall, Princeton, NJ, 08544. Back to Main Page
